RV Drainage Updates (updated 3.7.22)

As many of you know, Laurel Springs RV Resort has been something many of us have been greatly concerned about.  Residents of our community have been working tirelessly to reach out to individuals at all levels of government to get help to stop this project.  Based on this work, it is our understanding that the city feels that should flooding occur in Lakewood Cove it is not the responsibility of the RV Resort but rather the fault of the way that Lakewood Cove was built and its inability to drain the necessary water from the community.  The city has assured us that the retention pond and drainage systems within Lakewood Cove are built to sustain much more water than we are currently draining.  The City of Houston is confident that the drainage in our community can withstand a heavy storm.  Despite the city’s assurances, we are still concerned.  The board will be organizing to have a drainage analysis conducted to ensure that our current drainage can support the community needs.  We will update you as soon as we can regarding the progress on this project and the results of this analysis. If you would like to talk further about this or have additional concerns please feel free to contact Dave Martin’s office or 311 to express your thoughts on this matter.   As always you are welcome to email us at board@lakewoodcovehoa.org
