May 3, 2022: Open Positions
Please email board@lakewoodcovehoa.org with questions or interest in filling one of the below positions.
HOA Board Vice President (VP) – 1 position available
In the absence of the President or in event of his/her inability or refusal to act, the Vice President or Second Vice President shall perform the duties of the President, and when so acting, shall have all the powers of and be subject to all restrictions upon the President. Any Vice President shall perform such other duties as from time to time may be assigned to him/her by the President or by the Board of Directors.
Architectural Control Committee (ACC)- 2 positions available
ACC committee members are volunteers. No specific qualifications are needed in order to serve as an ACC Committee member, although it is helpful for a member to have experience or knowledge in construction, architecture, maintenance, or a related field. In most cases, the members of the ACC Committee are not allowed to be members of the HOA’s board of directors. Having an ACC Committee that is separate from the HOA board ensures that there is no conflict of interest or abuse of power by members of the board.
What are ACC Members in Charge of?
The main responsibility of the ACC is to review plans and specifications for proposed improvements or changes to a homeowner’s property. They then approve or deny the requests based on the guidelines found in the community bylaws. The ACC Committee also helps the HOA board members by ensuring that all homes within the community are following the guidelines stated in the governing documents regarding exterior maintenance. The volunteers on the ACC Committee hold regular meetings to review homeowner requests and discuss any current architectural or maintenance problems. They are required to keep minutes of these meetings that can be viewed, upon request, by any member of the HOA.

February 12, 2022: RV Drainage Updates (updated 3.7.22)
As many of you know, Laurel Springs RV Resort has been something many of us have been greatly concerned about. Residents of our community have been working tirelessly to reach out to individuals at all levels of government to get help to stop this project. Based on this work, it is our understanding that the city feels that should flooding occur in Lakewood Cove it is not the responsibility of the RV Resort but rather the fault of the way that Lakewood Cove was built and its inability to drain the necessary water from the community. The city has assured us that the retention pond and drainage systems within Lakewood Cove are built to sustain much more water than we are currently draining. The City of Houston is confident that the drainage in our community can withstand a heavy storm. Despite the city’s assurances, we are still concerned. The board will be organizing to have a drainage analysis conducted to ensure that our current drainage can support the community needs. We will update you as soon as we can regarding the progress on this project and the results of this analysis. If you would like to talk further about this or have additional concerns please feel free to contact Dave Martin’s office or 311 to express your thoughts on this matter. As always you are welcome to email us at board@lakewoodcovehoa.org.

February 12, 2022: January Recap
As January comes to a close, the HOA board would like to share some of the things that we have accomplished in the 4 weeks that we have been serving the Lakewood Cove Community. During this time, our priority has been to transfer information from the old board, bring all accounts current, re-establish relationships with our contractors (like the landscaper), set up events to bring the community together, work on new playground equipment, and establish our contract with the management company. As of January, we have signed a contract with Sterling Management Company. We are currently working to transfer data to them and are looking to have them take over fully in the next few months. More details to come about that at our next board meeting on the 3rd Thursday of February. We are working hard for our community and we wanted you to be aware of the things that we are doing. If you have any suggestions, ideas, or improvements please do not hesitate to reach out to board@lakewoodcovehoa.org.
